Solar concentrators in general must meet the following requirements:
- wide spectral bandwidth (from 0.4 mm to 1.4 mm)
- high concentration of power
- compactness
- low cost of realization.
Another fundamental requirement in the design of the collector are
the size of the image and the opening angle, which must be
sized so as to be able to couple with the chosen optical component
(single fiber, fiber bundle, single photovoltaic cell, cell pattern, solar tower receiver ....).
The research activity of the laboratory led to the design of
various types of collectors, adapted to the use. In particular we have
four types of collectors identified
